You will need to install either XAMPP or WAMP on your Windows computer. Then install Solismed. However, there is an easier way by using Uniform Server (no localhost server and Solismed installations needed). Here's how:

(1) Download the pre-packaged systems from https://solismed.com/download/Solismed-2.8-US.zip.
(2) Drag "Solismed-US" folder out from the zip file to your desktop, C:\ drive, or flash drive.
(3) Go inside the folder and click on "UniController.exe" file to start Uniform Server.
(4) Click "Start Apache" and "Start MySQL" when you see the Uniform Server control panel.
(5) Allow access (two times) when prompted by Windows.
(6) Wait for Solismed login page to appear in your browser.
(7) Log into the system using "admin" as the username and "masterpass" as the password.

If you cannot access the login page, you can try reinstalling Solismed. First, find and delete "www/solismed/config/$ettings.php" file. Then go to "http://localhost:88/solismed" to see the System Installation page. Use "solismed" for MySQL Database,  "127.0.0.1" for MySQL Host, "root" for MySQL Username, and "masterpass" for MySQL Password.

The Apache port used by Uniform Server is 88, which helps to avoid potential conflict with port 80. More info about Uniform Server can be found at https://www.uniformserver.com.

A backup of the Uniform Server and Solismed can be done by copying the entire "Solismed-US" folder to your flash drive.
